Meditations Practiced in Trika Retreat

The Trika Meditation Retreat is a unique meditation retreat compiled by Somananda that focuses on a potent combination of special tantric and Raja Yoga meditations designed for accessing the deepest recesses of the human mind.

Techniques from Tantra

  • Lightning Meditation
  • Mantra Meditation
  • Powerful Yantra Meditation
  • Tantric Prana Uchara
  • Music Meditation

Tantric techniques utilize powerful energies for spiritual openings and activation of the higher chakras.

Techniques from Raja Yoga

  • Jangama Dhyana
  • Nasikagra Drishti Meditation
  • Shiva’s Third Eye Boomerang Meditation
  • Golden Pranayama
  • Guided Meditations and Astral Projection Meditation
  • Piercing the Reality Meditation: How to Escape the Matrix
  • Surpassing the Ego Meditation
  • Heart of God Meditation

Raja Yoga is known as the “kingly path” – so potent is this tradition – which focuses on the opening of the Third Eye. This brings spiritual clarity, mental control, and even paranormal abilities beyond imagination.

Techniques from Other Traditions

  • Sivananda Meditation
  • Walking Meditation

These supportive techniques blend your entire retreat into one, holistic experience. Additionally, you will enjoy daily guided Hatha Yoga practice, satsangs and blessing sessions with Somananda.

Venue

Rishikesh Valley

Rishikesh, India

This retreat takes place in Rishikesh, India, at the venue called the Rishikesh Valley. This is a family owned retreat center at the foot of the Himalaya mountains merged together with incredibly lush nature and undisturbed tranquility where you can study and truly transform.

The venue has two locations about 400 meters apart, which both will be at our disposal. First of them consists of 12 natural wooden cottages with a bathroom; a yoga hall; kitchen and dining area; and a mountain stream with a natural pool. Although furnished simply, cottages are elegant and come with a en suite bathroom.

The other location is a newly built hotel-style 4-story house with 12 apartments, each encompassing two bedrooms and a shared bathroom; two yoga areas are on top of the roof with stunning mountain views.

You will be placed in shared accommodation with 2 to 3 people per bedroom or cottage. Higher level rooms will be allocated to earlier registrants.

We are serving 3 vegetarian meals a day and filtered drinking water is available on site throughout the day.

Retreat Rules of Conduct

This meditation retreat is held in spiritual silence or mauna.

Cultivating mauna allows you to go much deeper in your retreat experience and achieve results you would otherwise not be able to reach. Continuous practice of silence is known to allow one’s mind to expand further, and for the spiritual effects to take root deeper in the various layers of your mind.

Exceptions to mauna are, of course, the days of arrival and departure. Notes will be allowed only for daily Q&A and administrative emergencies. The retreat leader will announce the beginning and end of mauna.

No electronic devices of any kind may be used during the days of spiritual silence.

This includes tablets, phones, laptops, MP3 players, etc. Exceptions may be made upon personal request and such exceptions need to be requested personally from the retreat leader and approved before mauna begins.

Although there may be a temptation to keep your phone with you for emergencies, we will provide you with an emergency contact for your family or business which may be called if anyone needs to reach you, thereby allowing you to relax fully into the retreat experience knowing that retreat administration will alert you if necessary to any issue needing your urgent attention.

We ask you to keep full celibacy during the retreat.

All participants, either singles or couples, are asked to not engage intimately with anyone during the silent retreat (no physical interaction of any kind). The focus of the retreat has to be on deepening your meditation practice and interiorization of all the spiritual experiences.

Couples joining the retreat together will be placed in separate rooms for a deeper retreat experience for both people.

Please do not bring or use any distractions for the mind during the retreat.

This includes – in addition to the use of electronic devices – books, magazines, and the like. To support your retreat experience, we will offer to collect any of these belongings for safe keeping and return them to you at the end of the retreat. Best, however, would be to leave them at home if possible.

Let this be an opportunity to completely unplug yourself and turn your focus inward.

Complete ban on toxic substances of any kind.

No smoking, consumption of alcohol, or use of recreational drugs is allowed during the retreat.
